DFDS Seaways commits to Newhaven-Dieppe ferry service
DFDS Seaways and the Syndicat Mixte de Promotion de L’Activité Transmanche, which is responsible for the promotion of cross Channel activities for the Seine-Maritime region, have reached an agreement in principle to extend DFDS Seaways’ operation and marketing of the Newhaven-Dieppe ferry service for an additional year. The agreement was reached between Nicolas Rouly, chairman of the General Council of Seine-Maritime and the SMPAT and Peder Gellert Pedersen, chairman of DFDS Seaways France and underlines the importance of the cross Channel ferry service to the tourism industry in the Seine-Maritime region of Normandy.

DFDS Seaways has announced that it is entering a period of consultation on the viability of its Portsmouth to Le Havre service. The announcement follows a meeting with its union representatives in the Extraordinary Works Council in France.

DFDS Seaways extends Scania partnership
DFDS Seaways has signed a new contract with Scania for the transport of truck chassis on the Rotterdam to Felixstowe freight route. The contract will commence today will represent revenue of more than €800,000 in 2014.
Seven Sisters sets sail for DFDS Seaways
Award-winning ferry operator, DFDS Seaways, has welcomed ferry Seven Sisters to the Portsmouth-Le Havre route, following the end of the charter period of Norman Voyager. Seven Sisters, which is branded Transmanche, is the sister ship of the Côte D’Albatre, which currently sails on DFDS Seaway’s ferry service between Newhaven and Dieppe.

Record passenger numbers for DFDS Seaways

Despite the ongoing challenging market conditions, over 65,000 passengers sailed in August alone, revealing an increase of almost 4,000 passengers compared to last year.

DFDS Seaways reorganises UK passenger operation
DFDS Seaways has introduced a new UK passenger organisation that will be responsible for all passenger sales for DFDS Seaways’ four ferry routes on the English Channel, as well as the passenger routes from Newcastle to Amsterdam and Harwich to Esbjerg. The new UK sales organisation will be headed by Max Foster, who has previously been heading DFDS Seaways’ joint passenger sales organisation in Germany.
