Today, Dubai saw the staging of the inauguration ceremony for Costa Deliziosa, the new diamond of the Costa Cruises fleet and the first cruise ship ever to be named in an Arab city.
Costa Deliziosa Costa Deliziosa (www.costadeliziosa.com), the latest “diamond” in the Costa Cruises fleet, called at Muscat and Abu Dhabi for the first time on her Grand Inaugural Cruise.
Only six days to go to the big inauguration event for Costa Deliziosa, the new jewel of the Costa Cruises fleet, which will be held in Dubai on 23 February in a unique and innovative ceremony staged by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), together with Europe’s number one cruise line.

On its launch, Costa Deliziosa will also play host to the 17th annual “Champions of the Sea 2009”, held between the 1 and 5 February 2010. Costa Cruises, Italy’s largest tourism group and Europe’s number one cruise company, will create a unique setting for the Champions of the Sea aboard its fifteenth ship as it leaves the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera.
The new jewel of the Costa Cruises fleet came through her official technical trials in the open sea. She will be inaugurated on February 23, 2010 in Dubai – this will be the first time an Arabian city has hosted a cruise ship christening ceremony.
