Dreamliner moves into Europe with LOT Polish Airlines delivery
LOT Polish Airlines is celebrating the delivery of the its first Boeing Dreamliner, with the carrier becoming the first European airline to take delivery of the 787. Senior LOT and Boeing executives, as well as Polish and US government officials, celebrated the historic delivery at an event at the Future of Flight Aviation Center in Mukilteo, Washington, near Boeing’s 787 final assembly plant in Everett.
Qatar Airways takes delivery of first Boeing Dreamliner 787
Boeing and Qatar Airways today celebrated the delivery of the airline’s first 787 Dreamliner. The airplane, the first of 30 787s ordered by the Doha-based airline, is also the first to be delivered to an airline in the Middle East.
Work begins on first British Airways Dreamliner
Construction has started on British Airways’ first Dreamliner, with the Boeing 787 due to join the airline’s fleet in May next year. British Airways has ordered 24 of Boeing’s game-changing aircraft, as well as 12 Airbus A380 superjumbos.
Boeing delivers first North Charleston-built Dreamliner
Boeing has marked a historic milestone, with delivery of the first 787 Dreamliner built at its North Charleston facility to Air India. The delivery continues the momentum of the 787 Dreamliner’s entry into revenue service by customers globally and marks the beginning of a new era of commercial airplane production in South Carolina.
All Nippon Airlines orders yet more Dreamliners
Boeing and All Nippon Airlines have announced the ANA Group has ordered an additional 11 787-9 Dreamliners. The order, valued at $2.7 billion at current list prices, bring the total number of 787s ANA has ordered to 66 airplanes - consisting of 36 787-8s and 30 787-9s.
United takes delivery of first Dreamliner
Boeing and United Airlines have announced the delivery of the airline’s first 787 Dreamliner. United is the first airline in North America to take delivery of the 787. Jeff Smisek, president and chief executive of United, said: “As the North American launch customer, we are delighted to be getting our first 787 Dreamliner.”
Air India becomes fifth carrier to operate Boeing Dreamliner
Boeing and Air India are celebrating the delivery of the airline’s first 787 Dreamliner. “Today is a great day for Air India as the most technologically advanced and fuel efficient airplane in the world joins our fleet,” said Rohit Nandan, Air India chairman.
LAN takes delivery of first Dreamliner in Americas
Boeing and LAN Airlines, one of the leading passenger and cargo carriers in Latin America, are celebrated the delivery of the first 787 Dreamliner to the airline, making it the first airline in the Americas to receive the new airplane. LAN is only the fourth customer in the world to include the Boeing 787 in its fleet with 32 of this new aircraft on order and lease.
United expands on Dreamliner plans
United Airlines has announced the first international routes for the new Boeing 787 Dreamliners. In addition to the previously-announced service from its Denver hub to Tokyo Narita, starting March 31st, 2013, the airline will operate non-stop 787 service five days a week between its Houston hub and Lagos, Nigeria, beginning January 7th next year.
United to fly Dreamliner on London route
United has confirmed plans to operate its Dreamliner aircraft to London Heathrow on a temporary basis from February 4th next year. The carrier has also confirmed that it will operate the aircraft on international routes to Tokyo, Lagos and Shanghai, before unveiling plans for domestic routes.
Qantas cancels order for 35 Boeing Dreamliners
Qantas Group has cancelled orders for 35 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft as part of its five year turnaround plan, which will see its Boeing delivery schedule being totally restructured.
Ethiopian Airlines to launch first Boeing Dreamliner
