Austrian Airlines to ground all flights from Thursday
Austrian Airlines has announced it will temporarily suspend all scheduled flight operations as of Thursday. The Lufthansa-owned carrier said it was reacting to restrictions imposed by many countries in response to the increased spread of the coronavirus.

Austrian Airlines and Air Berlin have concluded a wet lease agreement stipulating the lease of five aircraft operated by the Air Berlin Group. The airplanes will be successively integrated into the Austrian Airlines fleet in the months of March and April 2017.
Austrian Airlines starts services to Havana, Cuba
Austrian Airlines has started serving Havana, Cuba, once a week on Tuesdays, with a Boeing 767 aircraft. “We have continuously expanded our offering to long-haul tourist destinations since 2013, with flights now being operated to Colombo and Mauritius. “We will also serve Havana, and thus a Caribbean destination for the first time in six years,” explained Andreas Otto, chief commercial officer of Austrian Airlines.

Lufthansa has approved large-scale investments in the Austrian Airlines fleet. The investments will serve as the basis for the Austrian Airlines strategy entitled, “Next Level Austrian”, at the Vienna flight hub, as well as for the acquisition of one additional intercontinental and two additional continental aircraft.
Austrian Airlines to link Vienna and Los Angeles with new flight
Austrian Airlines will add a new long-haul destination in North America to its flight schedule in the summer of 2017. Starting on April 10th, 2017, a Boeing 777 will take off to Vienna from Los Angeles, up to six times a week.
