America West Declines ATA Assests Opportunity
America West Holdings Corporation , parent company of America West Airlines, Inc., today announced it does not plan to submit a bid to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to purchase ATA Holdings Corp. . America West had previously announced it was considering acquiring ATA through that airline’s Chapter 11 restructuring process.
FAA, America West Reach Agreement On Operational Enhancements And Compromised Civil Penalties
America West Airlines, Inc. (NYSE: AWA)and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) today announced they haveentered in a compromise agreement in which America West will implement aseries of new practices and procedures regarding certain maintenanceactivities and pay a settlement amount of $2.5 million. Additionally, theagreement calls for a deferred $2.5 million payment which will be forgiven ifthe Airline complies with the terms of the settlement agreement. Thesettlement agreement imposes no limitations on America West`s operations.
America West Completes $20 Million Equity Repurchase
America West Holdings Corporation(NYSE: AWA) announced today that it had repurchased $20 million of itsoutstanding common stock and publicly traded warrants. The equity wasacquired in a private transaction with Mesa Air Group, Inc., and in a seriesof open-market purchases.
