The Savoy has announced a partnership with Alipay, China’s leading third-party mobile and online payment platform. The property will become be the first luxury London hotel to implement Alipay across the entire hotel, as well as Simpson’s in the Strand.

Voyages-sncf.com, a major player in European tourism, continues to expand its operations in China. Having opened a subsidiary in Shanghai last March, the group has signed an agreement with Alitrip to promote and sell French and European rail travel packages.
VisitBritain signs Hainan Airlines partnership to boost Chinese visitor numbers
VisitBritain has celebrated its milestone partnerships with Hainan Airlines and Alitrip, Alibaba group’s tourism arm, in China. Both partnerships have been established to attract more Chinese visitors to Britain. UK secretary of state for culture, media and sport Karen Bradley and VisitBritain director Patricia Yates earlier met with senior executives from Hainan Airlines and Alitrip as part of the fourth UK-China People to People Dialogue.
Travelport signs Alitrip in significant Chinese expansion
Travelport has announced a new content and data partnership agreement with Alitrip, the online travel platform of the Alibaba Group. With this partnership, Alitrip will have access to Travelport’s pricing and availability data to support its own fare and shopping platform, as well as the use of Travelport’s suite of flagship shopping products: ePricing and Search Control Console.
Alibaba Group spins off Alitrip as competition grows in online travel
Alibaba Group has set its sites on the rapidly evolving online travel space with confirmation it will spin-off its online travel business Taobao Travel to become an independent business named Alitrip. Headquartered in the eastern city of Hangzhou, Alibaba operates China’s most popular online shopping platform, Taobao.
