Air Southwest has confirmed it will cease operations to Newquay and Plymouth from September, months ahead of schedule. The carrier - which runs a fleet of four Dash 8 aircraft and employs almost 150 staff - had originally planned to maintain flights until Plymouth city airport is closed in December.

UK regional airline Air Southwest is launching a twice-daily service between London City Airport and Plymouth and Newquay airports from 20 April.The new service, operated on 50-seater Dash 8-300 aircraft, will stop at Plymouth en-route to Newquay, allowing travellers from both Devon and Cornwall to benefit from the new connection to London City Airport.
