Seychelles tourism minister highlights close ties with South Africa

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles minister responsible for tourism and culture, and Manoj Papa, chief executive of Air Seychelles, have jointly chaired a press conference at the Hilton Hotel in Durban South Africa to update the press on the state of tourism in the Seychelles. Miss Seychelles 2013, Agnes Gerry and two Air Seychelles cabin crew were on hand to welcome the press to the conference that had been jointly organised by David Germain and Marsha Parcou of the Seychelles Tourism Board in South Africa and Josie Michaud-Payet and Cindy Vidot of Air Seychelles.

Air Seychelles has confirmed the appointment of Manoj Papa as its new chief executive, succeeding Cramer Ball, who has tendered his resignation. Papa joins from South African Airways, where he held the position of acting general manager, commercial, overseeing the entire commercial portfolio for the airline.

airberlin and Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, have signed a historic codeshare agreement allowing customers from each of the two carriers to fly seamlessly between Abu Dhabi, Germany, and Seychelles. Initially, the agreement, which comes into effect immediately, will see Air Seychelles’ HM code placed on four of airberlin’s daily return services between Abu Dhabi and Berlin, Dusseldorf complementing the island carrier’s existing 26 weekly codeshare connections with Etihad Airways to Frankfurt, Munich and Dusseldorf.
