Air Malta to reintroduce Manchester route for summer 2018
Starting from May 1st next year, Air Malta will be reintroducing flights from Manchester to Malta on a weekly basis. The flights will run throughout the summer, until October 16th.
Air Malta to re-launch flights to Tunis Carthage Airport in June
Air Malta is reconnecting Malta to North Africa following the re-start of scheduled services between the islands and Tunis Carthage Airport as from Monday, June 26th. “We are very excited to announce that we will be returning to North Africa this summer with up to three direct flights a week,” said Paul Sies, Air Malta chief commercial officer.
Sies appointed chief commercial officer at Air Malta
Air Malta has appointed Paul Sies as chief commercial officer. Sies takes his position with immediate effect and will be responsible for leading all commercial activity on a day-to-day basis.
Galea steps up to lead Air Malta
Air Malta has announced the appointment of Joseph Galea as acting chief executive as the two-year term of the present chief Philip Micallef comes to an end. Galea has over thirty years’ experience in the travel industry and for the last two years has been deputy chief commercial officer with Air Malta, following a long stint with MTA as director international marketing based in Germany.
KLM boosts Mediterranean flights with Air Malta codeshare deal
KLM has announced a codeshare partnership with Air Malta, the Maltese national airline, flying direct from Amsterdam. Under this partnership, KLM will add its code and flight numbers to Air Malta’s domestic route network allowing customers to fly via KLM’s hub airport, award-winning Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and will connect with KLM’s extensive global network.
Air Malta adds new frequency on Djerba route
Air Malta has confirmed it will be increasing its schedule between Malta and Djerba with an additional weekly frequency every Tuesday with effect from September 16th. The Maltese airline will therefore be operating three weekly flights to/from the Tunisian city every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
Etihad expands code-share deal with Air Malta
Air Malta and Etihad Airways have expanded their code-share agreement to provide travellers with improved connections between Europe, the GCC region and Australia. Air Malta has announced it will commence flights from Glasgow Airport in 2014 a month earlier than planned, adding more than 1,300 extra seats. The inaugural weekly flight from Scotland’s largest city to the Mediterranean island nation will depart on Tuesday April 8th.
Air Malta flies into Cardiff Airport
Air Malta has announced good news for travellers in Wales and the south-west of England by adding an extra four departures as a prelude to their summer 2014 charter season. The additional flights on this popular route will commence on Tuesday April 8th 2014, four weeks earlier than originally planned, to satisfy expected public demand for travel to the sunshine island in the Mediterranean over the spring and Easter period.
Air Malta to operate charter flights to seven UK regional airports
This summer, between May and October, Air Malta will again operate weekly charter flights to/from seven regional airports in the UK. In line with demand and operations in previous years, Air Malta will operate charter flights to/from Birmingham and Cardiff with two flights every week on Tuesdays and Fridays, and weekly flights on Tuesdays to/from Bristol, Exeter, Newcastle, Norwich and Glasgow airports.
