World Ski Awards has issued a final call for votes as the deadline for the 2016 Gala Ceremony approaches. Voting will close on September 23rd, with the winners set to be revealed during a glittering event in Kitzbühel, Austria, over the weekend of November 18th-20th.

World Ski Awards has recognised the achievements of the Kitzbühel Wonder Team during a glittering Gala Ceremony in Austria. The six friends - all members of the Kitzbühel Ski Club - grew up to dominate international ski competition, taking an unprecedented 27 Olympic and World Championship medals in a golden decade between 1950 and 1960.

The all-important 16 week voting window of the 2015 World Ski Awards - the only global initiative to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence in the global ski tourism industry - is about to reach the halfway stage. Voting will close on the September 25th and with voting numbers across all the international categories already at record levels, the final months of voting will very much determine which destinations, hotels, chalets and ski companies will win the coveted 2015 World Ski Awards – the highest accolades in ski tourism.

French ski destination Val Thorens has been recognised as the World’s Best Ski Resort by voters at the World Ski Awards for a second successive year. In a night of high drama at A-ROSA Kitzbühel, Austria, the title of World’s Best Ski Hotel went to Stein Eriksen Lodge of the United States, while host Bergbahn Kitzbühel was recognised as the World’s Best Ski Resort Company.
