UK tour operators are kicking off a nationwide consumer promotion which aims to boost holiday bookings to Slovenia on the back of its World Cup soccer campaign.

A new independent travel agents’ group has been established to represent independent travel agents in the UK. The Federation of Independent Travel Agents (Fita) will replace the Triton Travel Group super-consortium; which had previously represented the interests of two largest independent travel agency chains in the UK - The Global Travel Group and Worldchoice UK.

The Inca ruins site at Machu Picchu is set to reopen to international visitors on April 1st, following a closure of two months following flooding. Speaking at ITB Berlin, officials from PromPeru confirmed the reopening following repairs to rail links to the site which were damaged earlier this year.
