Wyndham opens Ramada Resort in Phillip Island

Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific, a division of world leading hospitality company Wyndham Worldwide, announced the addition of the Ramada Resort Phillip Island property to its expanding portfolio of resorts in the South Pacific.  The agreement for the property, formerly known as All Seasons Phillip Island Resort, is for management rights of a selection of villas providing a combination of studio, two and three bedroom self-contained holiday apartments which will serve as a mixed-use property. In addition to the franchise agreement with Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest hotel company with approximately 7,200 hotels, Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific has also contracted to acquire a number of rooms and the common areas in the resort from Moss Capital who today acquired the freehold land including the common areas and 74 villas. A selection of villas will transfer into WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham, for use by its more than 44,000 timeshare owners.

“The re-branding of Ramada Phillip Island is an integral step in our company’s strategic direction to grow our portfolio in key tourism destinations with properties that are suitable for both hotel and apartment-style vacationing,” said Barry Robinson, Managing Director of both Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific and Wyndham Hotel Group in the South Pacific.

“Phillip Island as identified and communicated by the Victorian Tourism Board, is one key tourism and event destination in Victoria that appeals to both domestic and international travellers with over 3.5 million people visiting the island annually. We immediately recognised this resort as an ideal holiday destination to complement our recent Torquay acquisition.”

Ramada Phillip Island, located at 2128 Phillip Island Road, Cowes, Victoria, features 211 free-standing, villas situated on 65 acres of picturesque countryside. With excellent onsite facilities including restaurant and bar, conference rooms, swimming pool, tennis courts, kid’s playground, BBQ areas and numerous walking tracks, Ramada Phillip Island will appeal to families, conference and leisure visitors alike.

The resort is less than two hours drive from Melbourne and centrally located to take full advantage of the variety of attractions Phillip Island has to offer, from bay and surf beaches to the Penguin Parade, Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and the bustling seaside town of Cowes.
