Wyndham expands presence in Jeju, South Korea

Wyndham Hotel Group has opened two new hotels on the popular tourist island of Jeju, further expanding two of its globally recognised brands in South Korea as it caters to the growth in domestic travel to the island.

The recently opened 357-room Ramada Jeju City Hall and 464-room Howard Johnson Jeju Hotel Yeondong boost the group’s presence to 11 hotels operating on the island under the Ramada, Days Inn and Howard Johnson flags.

South Korean low-cost carriers are driving domestic arrivals into Jeju with increased flight routes and attractive promotions.

Coupled with the increased government expenditure to improve public infrastructure like the construction of Jeju’s second airport in Seongsan-eup, airport arrivals are expected to reach 20 million by 2025.

“With its national parks and natural wonders, Jeju is a world-class tourism destination, which continues to grow in popularity,” said president, Wyndham Hotel Group, south-east Asia and Pacific Rim, Barry Robinson.

“That demand makes Jeju an ideal location for Wyndham’s globally recognised brands.

“With hotels in Hamdeok, Seongsan and Seogwipo, our guests have access to the best locations to explore the island.”

Ramada Jeju City Hall offers 338 standard rooms and 19 suites offering complimentary Wi-Fi, plush bedding and state-of-the-art amenities.
Its onsite restaurant, La Stella, offers Korean, Chinese and Western food and also serves Halal-certified dishes.

Owned and operated under a franchise agreement by Diham, the hotel is located in Jungang-ro district, less than 20 minutes from Jeju International Airport, a 30-minute drive to Jeju Paradise Casino and within easy reach of Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum.

The hotel’s close proximity to Baojian Street treats guests to a unique shopping experience.

Howard Johnson Jeju Hotel Yeondong is the second Howard Johnson hotel on Jeju following the debut of Howard Johnson Jeju Seogwipo Harbor in May.

Owned by World Line, and operated under a franchise agreement, the hotel provides either mountain, ocean or city views in each of its well-appointed guest rooms, and travellers can choose from either a superior, deluxe or family suite with separate areas for relaxation or business meetings.

The hotel enjoys easy access to Sammu Park metro station, providing guests with convenient transportation to local offices as well as shopping, dining and entertainment precincts in downtown Yeondong.

Other facilities include an onsite restaurant, business centre, meeting rooms and a ballroom that can accommodate up to 200 guests.
