WTTC appoints Plant as business development director

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has announced the appointment of Caroline Plant to the position of business development director.

Plant was previously group marketing director for Manchester Airports Group.

Reporting to WTTC president David Scowsill, Plant will be responsible for generating membership, driving sponsorship revenues and developing new business opportunities by working closely with WTTC Members.

She will take up her new position on August 20th 2012.

At Manchester Airport, Plant also served an interim position as aviation director.

Previous to that she served as deputy commercial director for the Regional Airports Division within Manchester Airports Group; head of marketing for Avro, the flight-only consolidator within the Monarch Group and head of corporate sales for Virgin Atlantic Airways.

Scowsill said: “I’m delighted to welcome Caroline on board.

“With her 15 years of extensive sales, marketing and commercial experience she will be a great addition to the team at WTTC, as we drive out the message of tourism’s social and economic importance to more people in more parts of the world.”
