WorldStrides selects Travelport as primary technology partner

Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, today announces the signing of a long term agreement with WorldStrides, the largest and most trusted student travel organization in the nation.  Under the terms of the agreement, Travelport will serve as WorldStrides’ primary travel technology partner and provide access to travel content including air, hotel, car rental and cruise lines via its Worldspan platform.

The agreement also provides WorldStrides with Travelport XML Pro™, a web services solution enabling fast and efficient interface and the exchange of structured data.

According to Jake Mitchell, WorldStrides’ vice president of Purchasing & Air Operations, “We made the decision to renew with Travelport for many reasons but a pivotal factor in our deliberation was the fact that the Travelport team invested considerable time over the past several years and during the contract renewal period getting to know us, our business, and our objectives, and they used this knowledge skilfully in order to deliver a differentiated package that addressed all of our needs.”

“Having gone through a fairly rigorous comparison of GDS alternatives, it became clear that Travelport understood what we wanted to achieve better than anyone else and had the best solutions to solve our challenges.”

Scott Hyden, Travelport’s vice president of, Sales, U.S. said, “We have a successful and collaborative relationship with WorldStrides going back over several years, and a history of investing in new technology to respond to emerging trends and to help our customers improve efficiencies, grow and succeed. We look forward to helping WorldStrides reach their goals.”
