World Travel Market to launch wellness hub

World Travel Market 2015, the leading global event for the travel industry, has partnered with a leading spa and wellness specialist to launch a wellness hub.

WTM Wellness Lounge in association with Spafinder Wellness 365 will take place on November 4th-5th, highlighting the rapid growth of a sector that is now worth a healthy $3.4 trillion annually, according to the 2014 Global Spa & Wellness Economy Monitor.

The lounge will maximise connection opportunities between wellness exhibitors and wellness buyers, and facilitate business deals.

The introduction of this spa and wellness hub builds on the success of a Wellness Programme launched at WTM 2014, which included three sessions and the Spafinder Wellness 365 Wellness Travel Awards.

World Travel Market, senior director, Simon Press said: “The wellness industry’s importance to the wider travel industry continues to grow every year.
“It is now valued at $3.4 trillion and expands annually as our lives get busier and more stressful – and more people are increasingly concerned about boosting their physical and mental wellness during their leisure time.

“This has seen the wellness industry move quickly from a travel industry niche into the mainstream. WTM is fulfilling this need by giving the wellness industry a platform to negotiate and conclude deals.”

The new wellness hub offers suppliers an exclusive platform to meet fresh and established contacts and conduct business in the comfort of the dedicated lounge.

The package for suppliers will include private pods within the lounge; a networking breakfast with wellness buyers on Wednesday November 4th; priority access to WTM Speed Networking sessions; and an online networking tool to connect with the wider WTM audience.
John Bevan, chief operating officer of Spafinder Wellness explained:  “Spafinder Wellness 365 is delighted to be partnering with World Travel Market again.

“After our very well attended conference programme at WTM 2014, there was a real appetite to see wellness become a travel product, just as cities, beach and ski have.

“For too long, the wellness and travel industries worked side by side but never crossed paths, but thanks to the foresight of World Travel Market, we have put together a programme that will allow the two industries to meet and do business.”
