Winemaker Chris Figgins sets sail with Windstar

Windstar Cruises, which operates a fleet of luxury yachts that explore hidden harbors and secluded coves of the world’s most treasured destinations, offers guests the opportunity to learn about wine making from Chris Figgins of Leonetti Cellar and Figgins Family Wine Estates on Wind Surf’s February 18, 2012, Yachtsman’s Caribbean voyage. During the sailing, Figgins will conduct a lecture, question and answer session, and a wine tasting.

Figgins is President and Winemaking Director for Figgins Family Wine Estates, which manages a collection of brands that thoughtfully extends the family’s passion for the finest wine and food experiences, producing some of the most sought after wines in the world with its Leonetti Cellar and FIGGINS brands. Each brand reflects the deep sense of place and connection to the land, staying true to the philosophy of maintaining exceptional quality by controlling the entire process from start to finish.

Figgins continues a 30-plus year tradition with Leonetti of producing some the world’s most renowned reds in small, limited productions. He recently launched FIGGINS, an estate-grown, single-vineyard wine, and Lostine Cattle Company, an all natural grass-fed beef company, to extend the Figgins Family Wine Estates experience to fine food.
