West coast main line disruption - Leighton Buzzard

At about 1700 this evening Network Rail received a report of a fire on board the 1625 London Midland service from Northampton to Euston as it approached Leighton Buzzard station. One passenger is reported to be injured. The service is presently at Leighton Buzzard station with the fire brigade and police in attendance. The West Coast Main Line is presently blocked and we’re presently working to reopen two of the four lines - the fast non-stopping lines - which we hope to reopen by 1900.

Disruption is being kept to a minimum as a result of this on going incident and passengers are advised to check with national rail enquiries (www.nationalrail.co.uk) or on 08457 48 49 50, or with their specific train operator for more information
