With summer here and the main holiday season soon to get underway, National Express East Anglia (NXEA) is advising customers that Network Rail engineers will be carrying out less weekend improvement works on the mainline route between Norwich, Ipswich, Colchester and London Liverpool Street over the coming weeks, starting from this weekend. This means that holidaymakers and day trippers can make travel plans without the need to check for any engineering work service alterations at weekends.
And with plenty of good value advance fares available, customers are advised to book early at: www.nationalexpresseastanglia.com to secure the best travel deals over the holiday season. NXEA also offers 2for1 deals on admission to many London attractions, including theatres, hotels and restaurants as well as family attractions, and a summer Sunday is often the perfect time to enjoy the capital’s leisure attractions. Customers can collect a voucher booklet for the 2for1 admission offers from their local station or download a copy from the website.
Network Rail engineers are not planning to carry-out improvement works during most weekends on the Norwich to London mainline route this summer and a normal scheduled Saturday or Sunday timetable is expected to operate on these dates:
June - Saturday 12 & Sunday 13, Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 and Saturday 26 & Sunday 27.
July - Saturday 3 & Sunday 4, Saturday 10 & Sunday 11*, Saturday 17 & Sunday 18, Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 and Saturday 31 & Sunday 1 August.
August - Saturday 7 & Sunday 8, Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 and Saturday 21 & Sunday 22.
Jackie Gibbs Head of Customer Services, North for National Express East Anglia said:
“We are pleased that most weekends this summer will be free of Network Rail improvement works on the Norwich to London mainline service, allowing for uninterrupted journeys. Together with our range of good value fares and admission offers, there has never been a better time to plan a family day out or weekend away.”
