Wataniya Airways appoints AVIAREPS General Sales Agent in Austria

Wataniya Airways, Kuwait’s premium services airline, has appointed AVIAREPS their General Sales Agent in Vienna, Austria. With immediate effect, the international aviation and tourism management company will be in charge of all future sales, marketing and ticketing activities. Headquartered in the heart of Vienna, Sonja Buocz-Lamatsch, General Manager of AVIAREPS Austria, and her team will manage Wataniya Airways’ business and will further strengthen the airline’s brand across the country to attract more travellers between Austria and Kuwait.

In June 2010, Wataniya Airways launched its first flight from Sheikh Saad General Aviation Terminal to Vienna. Currently, the airline offers three weekly flights from Vienna to Kuwait City every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Wataniya Airways operates six A320 aircraft divided into two classes, first class and premium economy with a total of 122 seats. Wataniya Airways offers advantageous services matching the specific demands of travellers flying in and out of Kuwait. Due to the generous seat pitch, passengers enjoy more comfort and space compared to any other scheduled airline within the same aircraft class.

The unique OnAir system offers guests the chance to keep in touch with family, friends and business partners during flights: mobile phones only have to be turned off during take-off and landing, and guests can use SMS, e-mail and internet services via their own mobile phones. Furthermore Wataniya Airways provides a modern and adjustable in-flight entertainment system with a wide selection of music, films, videos, games, latest news and sports in English and Arabic. Power sockets at each seat let passengers charge personal electronics like phones and laptops.

Launched in 2009, Wataniya Airways services 12 destinations across the Middle East and Europe, including Dubai, Jeddah, Bahrain, Amman, Beirut, Damascus as well as Alexandria, Cairo, and Sharm el-Sheikh. In May 2010, the premium services airline commenced its operations to Istanbul, Rome, and Vienna.
