Vueling carried 8.2 million passengers in 2009

Vueling, the new-generation airline, carried 8.2 million passengers during 2009, with an average seat-load factor of 73.7%—a 3.4-point increase with regards to 2008.

Vueling’s monthly, quarterly and annual main traffic figures are as follows:

ASK (available seat-kilometre): number of seats flown multiplied by the number of kilometres flown

RPK (revenue passenger-kilometre): number of passengers carried multiplied by the amount of kilometres they flew

p>Vueling reached the 25-millionth passenger mark in 2009, after slightly over 5 years of operations. Passenger volumes greatly increased during the year thanks to its merger with Clickair, and after the fall registered in 2008, as a consequence of the company’s fleet reduction plan.


The second most-punctual airline in Europe

December saw Vueling become Europe’s second most punctual airline, ahead of all of its direct competitors: according to the latest report provided by FlightStats (www.flightstats.com), an Oregon-based airline, airport, and travel information company, 83.92% of Vueling flights arrived on time during the month.
