Vogel to lead Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa, Virginia

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is pleased to name Stephane Vogel as general manager of Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

Since opening in 2009, the 107-room boutique hotel and spa has become a popular destination for discerning business and leisure travellers as well as locals.

In his position as general manager, Vogel will oversee all activities at Lorien Hotel & Spa including personnel, day-to-day operations, guest relations and business development.

He brings more than 16 years of hospitality industry experience to the hotel’s executive team, including eight years within the Kimpton family where he was most recently general manager at the award-winning Kimpton Donovan Hotel in downtown Washington, DC.

During his tenure with Kimpton, Vogel has worked his way up through management roles at many hotels including Kimpton Rouge Hotel, Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC and Kimpton Hotel Palomar Washington DC.

He gained invaluable experience along the way in managing hotel and sales staff, spa and restaurant teams, guests, meeting and event planners, vendors and owners.

Prior to joining Kimpton, Vogel held various positions from rooms division and communications managers to front desk manager during his seven-year tenure with Hyatt Hotels including at the Grand Hyatt Washington in DC and Hyatt Arlington in Virginia.

A Swiss native, Vogel graduated from Les Roches International School of Hotel Management in Bluche, Switzerland and speaks four languages, which assists in communicating with Washington’s diverse international clientele.
