VisitNewquay launches website

New Mind has delivered a brand new contemporary tourism website for Newquay,, one of our favourite seaside destinations.

VisitNewquay’s brief was to develop a new website which would boost visitor numbers, maximise commercial opportunities and position Newquay as a vibrant and appealing resort.

As the jewel in Cornwall’s crown, Newquay offers some of the best beaches, exhilerating activities both in and out of the water, top quality attractions and a range of events from surf contests to film festivals.

New Mind’s new Visit Newquay website site aims to reflect Newquay‘s status as the surf capital of the UK, with a contemporary design combined with an action menu revolving around beaches, watersports, activities and events. Extreme sports such as kitesurfing, bodyboarding and coasteering all feature to boost Newquay‘s reputation as home of the adrenaline rush. In contrast, access to more family friendly activities and relaxing persuits such as walking, cycling, fishing or simply enjoying the nation’s favourite beaches is readily available.

Online booking functionality is enabled for the first time and social media is exploited to the full with a Twitter feed, Flickr gallery, YouTube videos and the ability to share products and pages on Facebook. Banner adverts provide revenue generating opportunities and increased exposure for local businesses.

The content management is versatile and responsive and will allow us to build marketing campaigns around the time of year, events, activities and accommodation, something VisitNewquay has been unable to do in the past. The new website has been purchased by Newquay Town Council with VisitNewquay as the custodians of the site into the future in partnership with the Newquay tourism trade. The trade has already voted it a hit; within an hour of going live we had sold two banner adverts to a local holiday park!”
VisitNewquay plan to incorporate New Mind’s iPhone app, widgets and Facebook searches as well as Communicator email marketing in the near future.
