Vietjet sees surge in revenue for 2018

Vietjet has announced a 49 per cent increase in air transport revenue for 2018.

The airline flew over 23 million passengers last year.

The carrier recorded total revenue before audit of VND52.4 trillion (approximately US$2.26 billion), up 24 per cent compared to last year with pre-tax profit standing at VND5.83 trillion (approximately US$252 million).

Vietjet’s air transport revenue reached VND33.815 trillion (approximately US$1.46 billion), a 49 per cent year-on-year increase, reaching 112 per cent of the business’ target.

Auxiliary products and services grew 57 per cent over the same period and contributed nearly 27 per cent to the total revenue in 2018, a two per cent year increase from 2017.

In 2018, Vietjet operated 118,923 flights on 105 routes, including 39 domestic and 66 international routes, covering destinations such as Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Cambodia, and China.
