VAX VacationAccess has launched the Gay Travel Showcase designed to help agents sell more effectively to their LGBT clients.

Managed in cooperation with longtime gay travel expert Charlie Rounds, the site features the latest in LGBT travel trends, a list of travel suppliers, tour operators and destinations that are selling to this market and paying travel agent commissions, as well as a calendar of worldwide LGBT events, many that may be bookable on VAX.

“We have started with basic information about the LGBT travel market, and we will continually add new and relevant content to keep VAX’s 100,000 travel agents coming back for more,” said Rounds, who recently received the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

In addition to weekly blogs by Rounds, travel agent training, wedding/honeymoon resources and gay-friendly destination information, the Gay Travel Showcase will include offers by suppliers serving the gay and lesbian traveler. Some of the suppliers participating in the launch of the site are Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, Travel Gay Canada, Palace Resorts, Jupiter Hotel Portland, Maui Sunseeker Resort, and the LGBT tour operator Concierge Travel.
