Vancouver’s Rosewood Hotel Georgia opens friday, July 15th 2011

On Friday July 15th, Vancouver’s Rosewood Hotel Georgia will open its doors to welcome the first guests since its dramatic restoration, returning this historic hotel to its position as the social, business and cultural hub of the city. This hallmark property, now managed by prestigious Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, started life 84 years ago and has enjoyed a vibrant past with guests including glamorous Hollywood stars, music legends and British Royalty.

The hotel has been lovingly restored in preparation for its revival and counts one of the country’s largest private collections of Canadian art among its unique draws. An exquisitely restored Spanish Ballroom, Sense A Rosewood Spa®, nearly 10,000 square feet of deluxe banquet and meeting facilities, breathtaking crystal chandeliers and intimate lobby lounge ‘1927’, all add to the allure of this world-class retreat.

“We are delighted to introduce the new Rosewood Hotel Georgia,” said John Scott, CEO for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. “The opening marks an incredible milestone; the culmination of many months of love, work and dedication by some of Canada’s most respected creative and hospitality industry talent. We are thrilled to be part of the promising futures of both Vancouver and this legendary building.”

The new property features 155 rooms and suites that will be the height of sophistication against the remarkable backdrop of the restored hotel, including two exceptional penthouse suites; the Lord Stanley Suite and the hotel’s signature Rosewood Suite both feature a private rooftop terrace complete with stunning city skyline views, outdoor hot tub and fireplace.
