Two dead following Bali boat explosion

Two people have been confirmed dead following an explosion on board a pleasure boat on the Indonesian island of Bali.

At least 14 others are believed to have been injured during the incident.

Terrorism has been ruled out as the cause of the incident, with a short circuit near the fuel tank the likely cause according to officials.

The boat was carrying at least 30 passengers, including many foreigners.

Four crew were also on board.

It was heading to the island of Gili Trawangan when the incident occurred.

Tourists from the UK, France, Italy, Portugal, Ireland and Spain on board, according to a passenger manifest.

The explosion on the Gili Cat 2 boat happened 200 metres out of Padang Bai port in eastern Bali, according to police.
