A visionary entrepreneur, Miguel entered the travel industry when he developed a group of travel agencies in the early 60s. From the company’s headquarters in Mallorca, Mr Fluxa now oversees the operations of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts - an international hotel chain with more than 100 resorts around the world - as well as the Group’s other divisions: Iberostate Golf, Villas and Condos and Iberoservice.
Miguel and Peter have shared many game changing chapters in travel over the years. In this session we’ll hear about Miguel’s life in travel; their past experiences; the close relationship between tour operators and hoteliers and how Miguel sees the future developing for the hospitality and travel sectors.
Peter Long TUI Chief Executive said: “Miguel Fluxa and I have worked in this industry for many years and have seen significant change in that time. I am delighted that at this year’s Travel Convention I will have the opportunity to discuss not only his career but also what the future holds for our industry in general.”
Mark Tanzer ABTA Chief Executive said: “Peter Long and Miguel Fluxa are two giants of the travel industry. They have close personal and professional ties having worked together developing the travel industry worldwide and most closely at the beginning, in Spain and our host island Mallorca. They will provide fascinating insights into how to develop and sustain successful businesses and especially how to work with partners to mutual benefit.”
