TUI China opens Shanghai branch

TUI China officially opened its highly-anticipated Shanghai branch, located in the CH International Tower, in Hongkou District, Shanghai. Honored guests from airline and hotel partners, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Tourism, and other local government agencies joined members of TUI China in celebrating this historic moment at the grand opening ceremony.

In a statement regarding the grand opening, our CEO, Mr. Marcel Schneider, expressed his vision for the new Shanghai branch: “Shanghai is the economic capital of China and a major hub for international commerce. Recognizing this market potential, TUI China has established the Shanghai branch to serve as a bridgehead for further business development in the Eastern China market.”

TUI China’s Shanghai branch will focus on providing professional services to Shanghai’s growing M.I.C.E. (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) sector. Mr. Schneider believes, “TUI China is a natural fit for this market, due to the unparalleled operational experience of our staff in arranging inbound and outbound M.I.C.E. services for both large multinationals and local companies.”

The Shanghai branch will grow under the management of Frances Xie, a seasoned professional in the M.I.C.E. and travel industry.

Even though the branch is starting small, Mr. Schneider is confident that TUI China will “gradually extend our footprint in Shanghai and throughout Eastern China in general.”

“On behalf of the Executive Board, Mr. Marcel Schneider would like to wholeheartedly thank all of you for your hard work and commitment that has enabled TUI China to continue pioneering in China’s tourism industry.” He added.
