A popular iPhone and iPod touch app that maps the London Underground has adopted Apple’s new push notification technology to inform users the instant that there are disruptions to the tube service.

London Tube Deluxe lets users select which service disruptions they wish to be notified about, making choices based on three criteria: days of the week, time ranges and specific tube lines. And there is no limit to the number of notifications that will be sent.

“You will be notified for every service change within your time ranges, weekday and tube line,” says developer Malcolm Barclay. “it doesn’t even matter if the time ranges overlap, Tube Deluxe will work this out and only notify you once.”
