Travel Indochina launches new Asia River Cruising brochure

Travel Indochina recently launched its new Asia River Cruising brochure to its trade partners at a dedicated Indochina event and all cruise itineraries will be bookable to the travel trade via the operator’s partner, Travel 2.

Travel Indochina’s featured selection includes only the finest river cruisers to sail the Mekong River. The new flagship cruise ship, The Jahan, will incorporate all the features of a luxury boutique hotel and top international service standards. With 26 of the largest sized cabins on the Mekong, as well as the highest staff-to-passenger ratio than any other vessel on Indochina’s waterways, The Jahan will offer a truly intimate cruising experience. The ship, which will feature a pool, observatory decks, a fully-equipped gym, spa, steam bath and onboard shore-excursion butler, will make its inaugural voyage in late October 2011, travelling from Saigon to Siem Reap – gateway to the temples of Angkor.

Travel Indochina has created a range of itineraries for travellers looking to explore the fascinating countries of Vietnam and Cambodia, with options ranging from 8 days to 19 days in length. Those selecting a 12-day/11-night cruise will have a wonderful opportunity to combine an 8-day luxury river cruise on The Jahan with the chance to explore the fascinating cities of Saigon, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, including a visit to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels and an unforgettable sunrise experience at Angkor Wat. Prices start from £2,572 per person (based on twin occupancy) and include 7 nights’ accommodation in a Superior Stateroom onboard The Jahan; 5 nights’ luxury hotel accommodation; domestic flights, excursions and entrance fees; English-speaking guides; daily breakfast and dinner; all meals aboard the cruise; tips, porterage and taxes; and airport transfers. Price excludes international flights.

Customers can also choose to sail the Mekong River on The Jahan’s sister ship, The Jayavarman, which offers 27 spacious cabins and uncompromising luxury reminiscent of the French colonial era. For those who would prefer a journey along one of the world’s greatest rivers, the Yangtze, Travel Indochina offers a luxury 4-day/3-night downstream cruise from Chongqing to Yichang or a 5-day/4-night option travelling upstream.

Commenting on the launch of the brochure, Travel Indochina’s international sales and marketing manager, Lesley Wright said: “Our decision to launch our dedicated river cruising brochure very much reflects the increased level of interest and demand for cruises in Asia. We have an exclusive allocation on two luxury boats departing weekly along the Mekong and options of 2 or 6 weekly departures with different vessels on the Yangzte, meaning we have cruises departing virtually every few days. What’s more, our private shore excursions, City Stays and tailor-made touring options offer even more benefit for customers looking to experience the highlights of some of Asia’s greatest countries.”
