Tourism Australia and Singapore Airlines join forces to Invite Brits Down Under

Tourism Australia (TA) and Singapore Airlines have partnered on a national advertising campaign inviting British holidaymakers to experience Australia for their next long haul trip.

The £800,000 campaign, which runs from 7 February to 6 March 2011, uses TA’s There’s Nothing Like Australia global creative and includes TV and online advertising. Each execution directs consumers to find out more at www.australia.com/singaporeairlines or from their local travel agent.

The TV advertisement is a 40 second spot that will reach 21 million of the target audience. This is supported by online spots on travel portals and social media channels. Each execution highlights why there’s nothing like an Aussie holiday, and showcases the unique experience of flying in the highest quality comfort and style with award-winning carrier Singapore Airlines.

Rodney Harrex, Tourism Australia Regional General Manager UK/Northern Europe comments:
“2010 was a tough year for the travel industry yet our visitor figures out of the UK market were stable compared to 2009. This shows the ongoing support for Australia from British holidaymakers, who are attracted by the range of diverse experiences. This campaign will help to ensure that the demand for Australia continues through 2011 in the UK.”

Tony Lusk, Singapore Airlines Sales and Marketing Manager UK and Ireland, says:
“We’re very happy to partner with Tourism Australia to invite British tourists to discover Australia. With daily flights from both Manchester and London Heathrow it’s never been easier to fly with Singapore Airlines and enjoy our award-winning service. Our UK passengers also have the option of stopping over in Singapore to experience this unique and vibrant city en route to their final destination.”
