Top of the Ferrari World

With less than 100 days to go before its highly-anticipated opening, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi has unveiled 20 of the attractions that will feature at the first park of its kind for the iconic car manufacturer.

Highlights include the world’s fastest roller coaster – the Formula Rossa, which emulates the feel of a Formula One ride, travelling at speeds of up to 240 kmph (about 150 mph) in less than five seconds.

Sitting under a roof designed in the style of the classic double-curve body shell of a Ferrari GT car, Ferrari World covers more than 200,000 square metres.

“The opening of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will revolutionize the way visitors and people in the region spend their leisure time,” said Mohammad Al Mubarak, Chairman of the park’s operating company, Farah Leisure Parks Management. “It is a great testament of Abu Dhabi’s capacity, and the region’s potential, as a world class tourist destination.”

The futuristic complex is situated on Yas Island, located on the north east side of Abu Dhabi’s mainland.

It will open on 28 October, a fortnight before this year’s Abu Dhabi GP.

Other highlights include the fantasy world of ‘Nello’ at Speed of Magic, offering a 4-D adventure through deep green jungles to icy caves and ravines.

G-Force is a tower ride that will shoot the intrepid through the red roof and 62 meters over 200 feet in the air before plummeting back to earth.

Scuderia Challenge provides cutting-edge racing simulators similar to those used by the drivers of the Scuderia Ferrari in training.

Ferrari World is just one of a dazzling array on new features being created on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.

The 2,500 hectare island, strategically located between the coast and the city of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, boasts a range of world-class hotels, theme parks, golf courses, mega malls, apartments and villas, and much more.
