Thousands see plans up in the air for New Year’s Eve

More than 18,000 customers will be onboard British Airways’ flights as the clocks in London strike midnight and signal the start of 2013.

The customers will be seated on more than 75 long-haul aircraft flying at 35,000 feet to popular winter destinations such as South Africa, California and Hong Kong.

It is expected that celebratory champagne consumption will be up ten per cent with almost 2,000 bottles of complimentary bubbly being opened onboard British Airways’ flights on Monday December 31st, 2012 as customers get ready to see in the New Year in style.
