Thomas Cook unveils Cash Passport

Thomas Cook UK & Ireland has launched a strictly limited edition Cash Passport to celebrate next month’s Royal Wedding.  With just 3,000 available in selected stores from tomorrow, 25 March, the card will appeal to both Royal memorabilia collectors and visitors to the UK alike.

Seen by many as the modern alternative to travellers’ cheques, more and more holidaymakers in the UK are opting for the Thomas Cook Cash Passport to carry their currency abroad.  Now visitors to the UK will be able to buy the sterling-only payment card at Heathrow Terminal 5 and Manchester Airport foreign exchange bureaux, as well as at selected Thomas Cook stores.

As the creator of the forerunner of the traveller’s cheque in 1874, and now the world’s biggest selling retailer of the prepaid currency card, it makes sense that Thomas Cook marks this historic occasion with a collectable edition, which will be the company’s only Royal Wedding memorabilia.

The Thomas Cook Limited Edition Cash Passport features a licensed image of HRH Prince William and Kate Middleton on the announcement of their engagement.  The card will be available when pre-loaded sterling currency is purchased, and will be sold in a commemorative envelope.

Produced by Mastercard ©, Cash Passport minimum loads of £30 will apply and the card will be valid for use for three years.

The full Thomas Cook Cash Passport range, featuring a range of card images, includes seven currency cards available in Euros, US, Australian, New Zealand and Canadian Dollars, South African Rand and British Pounds.
