The first episode of a new UK television series, The Hotel, will be aired on channel 4 on Sunday at 8pm.

The fly on the wall documentary by Ben Brown, looks at the trials and tribulations of daily life in the Damon Dene hotel, as staff try to keep holidaymakers happy during a busy summer season.

Cameras were set up all around the three star property that is located in the Lake District. The first episode includes a young man who is about to propose to his girlfriend of four years.

Damson Dene is situated in the tranquil Lyth Valley near to Lake Windermere. The hotel offers an on-site leisure club with swimming pool, gym and a beauty salon. All the bedrooms are en-suite and some offer four poster beds and en-suite jacuzzi baths. The hotel is a classic country getaway, with log fires and an outside bar terrace overlooking well tended gardens.

Earlier this year, ITV ran its successful The Lakes series that was filmed at Inn on the Lake, boosting interest to the scenic area.

The Lake District, located in the North West of England, is one of the most popular UK holiday destinations, famous for its lakes and mountains. 8.3 million visitors travel to the Lake District each year, according to Cumbria Tourism, 89% of whom travel by private motor vehicle.
