The beautiful game sets sail this summer

With the FIFA World Cup 2014 just around the corner, sports fever is gripping the nation and, whether watching from the comfort of your own stateroom or getting involved on board, cruise lines are ensuring their passengers won’t miss out on the big game action.

Live coverage of FIFA World Cup matches will be screened on board many of the major cruise lines such as Crystal Cruises, Cunard and P&O Cruises. Celebrity Cruises will also be offering guests viewing parties and football video game tournaments on board, whilst Royal Caribbean International has teamed-up with Coca-Cola to bring the world’s biggest game to the seas for the ultimate watch party this summer. The Coca-Cola World Cup Party at Sea is a special event designed for passengers to celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2014 on board with numerous fun activities for all ages.

The FIFA World Cup 2014 is just one of the many sporting experiences passengers can experience on board cruise ships this summer. In addition to watching other major sporting events such as Wimbledon, passengers can take a more active approach if they wish with access to fitness centres, swimming pools, tennis courts, dance classes, rock climbing walls, ice skating and other sporting activities designed for all ages.

Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity Cruises will broadcast the FIFA World Cup 2014 live on board its ships sailing to Alaska, Bermuda and Europe. Guests on board can enjoy all 64 matches between more than 30 competing national teams taking place from 12 June to 13 July 2014.
Celebrity Cruises also offers a fitness centre, various sporting and games, pool games, and their exclusive Let’s Dance Series.

Crystal Cruises
Crystal Cruises will broadcast the FIFA World Cup 2014 on board its Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony ships. Guests on board will be able to enjoy all 64 matches live while cruising the Mediterranean and Northern Europe between 12th June and 13th July 2014. Fans will be able to watch the games from the comfort of their own stateroom while selected key games will be shown in one of the spacious lounges or theatres on board both ships.
As well as dancing lessons, a fitness centre and junior activities, Crystal Cruises guests can also enjoy Crystal Adventures Shore Excursions.

Cunard
Cunard will be live screening the FIFA World Cup (12th June - 13th July) and Wimbledon (23rd June – 6th July) this summer.
Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 ship will undertake four seven-night Atlantic crossings between Southampton and New York in June and July. Cunard also offers sports courts for tennis players, dance classes, a games deck and kids and teens zones with activities tailored to specific age groups.

P&O Cruises
P&O Cruises will be live screening the FIFA World Cup (12th June - 13th July) and Wimbledon (23rd June – 6th July) this summer.
P&O Cruises is offering a selection of seven and 14-night fly-cruise holidays in the Mediterranean on family-friendly contemporary ship Ventura. Based on N413B cruise departing June 25, 2014. P&O Cruises passengers will also have full use of the Sports deck with football, short tennis and Tai Chi, as well as the gym and various swimming pools.

Royal Caribbean International
Royal Caribbean International is partnering with Coca-Cola to host the only Coca-Cola party at sea celebrating the FIFA World Cup 2014 from 12th June to 13th July. Matches will be broadcast on all of its ships throughout June and July 2014.
On board Royal Caribbean International’s ships, there are also opportunities to go ice skating, rock wall climbing, take part in dance classes and use their on board jogging track.
