Starwood Hotels announces Sheraton Algarve renovation

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced that the Sheraton Algarve Hotel at Pine Cliffs Resort will commence a phased renovation incorporating all rooms, public areas and food and beverage outlets.

In addition, an extension will be added to the property providing seventy-eight new luxury suites, a new Italian restaurant, a state of the art Health spa and underground parking facilities.

The renovation forms part of a new agreement between United Investments Portugal and global hotel operator, Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

The agreement also includes a 20-year extension to the existing management contract with Starwood continuing to operate the property under The Luxury Collection brand.
 
The renovation of Sheraton Algarve Hotel is part of a larger strategy from Starwood Hotels & Resorts in the restoration of its most celebrated Luxury Collection hotels in Europe.

Other recent renovations include Prince de Galles in Paris, Hotel Bristol in Vienna and The Gritti Palace in Venice among others.

The renovation of Sheraton Algarve will take place in phases with the first stage commencing in November 2014 during the hotel’s winter season.

Phase one will be completed in advance of the hotel opening for the spring/summer 2015 season.

The second phase will take place during the 2015 winter period and the third and final stage, will take place during the 2016 winter season.

Originally built in 1992, by United Investments Portugal, the Sheraton Algarve Hotel, with its Arabic architecture provides guests with a taste of the local Algarve.
