The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa has announced the appointment of Jonathan Stapleton as its new general manager.
Under the ownership of Topland Group, the heritage hotel has recently undergone a significant renovation and meticulous restoration process, reopening its doors as a ‘British icon reborn’.
Topland Group, a privately owned international investment company with a substantial hotel portfolio, has invested heavily in The Royal Crescent Hotel to consolidate its positioning as one of the world’s leading five star hotels.
Stapleton joins The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa following a distinguished management career.

Most recently, Jonathan was general manager at Thermae Development.
Prior to this, Jonathan held the position of chief executive at Farncombe Estate where he consulted on establishing the estate as a leading UK hospitality brand.
In addition, Jonathan has been general manager at Lough Erne Resort in Northern Ireland, which he established as the first AA and NITB 5 Star hotel in Northern Ireland, and The Old Course Hotel Golf Resort & Spa, which he established as one of only three AA 5 Red Star hotels in Scotland.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and a Master Innholder.
He was president of the International Spa Association for Europe, Africa and Middle East from 1991 until 2001 and has made a number of additional standout industry contributions throughout his career.
