Sow a Seed, Save a Life
As part of the Hotel’s continuing commitment towards sustainability and cancer research, the Hotel offers its latest community outreach initiative – “Sow a Seed, Save a Life” in conjunction with its Stay Longer package.
For a small cost, guests will receive three seeds to plant at the Hotel’s 1,000 square foot (93 square metre) eco-garden. Initiated by the Hotel’s employees in June 2009, the garden houses a veritable kitchen of delightful plants and vegetables such as banana, lime, lemongrass, ginger, okra, bok choy and kale. Delicious results have since sprung up from this harvest, including the basil used in Executive Chef Bruno Correa’s pasta and Applewood grilled dishes, and chilli in Jiang Nan Chun’s XO chilli sauce. To make things easier, the Hotel’s landscape staff will be on hand to assist guests and their kids during their planting session, and provide a cap, gardening gloves and planting tools.
“Sow a Seed, Save a Life” is available till September 30, 2011. Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is committed to supporting both local efforts and broader campaigns whose goal is the eradication of cancer. Through the collective efforts of the company’s hotels worldwide, Four Seasons annually raises significant funds and awareness for cancer research. All proceeds from “Sow a Seed, Save a Life” will go towards Run For Hope 2011, an annual charity event organised by Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, The Regent Singapore and the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) to raise much needed funds for cancer research.
The activity runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, and may be reserved by contacting the Concierge at [email protected]
