Sixt and Siemens renew historic partnership

Sixt and Siemens have enjoyed decades of close cooperation – dating back to 1974, when the technology group rented its first vehicles from the mobility provider.

Sixt continues to convince Siemens with its premium solutions and will now step into the role of car rental partner in Germany as well as partner in other countries and regions, as both companies have renewed their agreement on a long-term basis.

Siemens will now have access to a wide range of mobility solutions for the future and will always be able to offer its employees the right mobility for their current needs.

Sixt’s strengths lie on more than its high-quality vehicle fleet, but especially in its flexible, digitalised processes for every rental – from booking a rental car to invoicing.

Sixt will offer its partner the option of reserving vehicles with the latest mobile apps on the SAP Concur booking tool.

It will offer Siemens a complete, automated overview of all travel expenses within the company.

Robert Suchy, corporate vice president of corporate procurement categories at Siemens, said: “Digitalisation, Industrie 4.0 and the Internet of Things are having an enormous effect on the way we work.

“That is why we are driving innovative solutions for the mobility of our employees.

“Sixt’s new digital approaches in Germany have shown us that an end-to-end approach in car rental fits perfectly with Siemens’ internal process landscape.”

Sixt will also make many other innovative services available to Siemens through their cooperation.

The Sixt Digital Self-Service will be available at select airports.

The technology group’s employees can reserve their Sixt vehicle over the app, select it and later pull it up on site.

No need to make the detour to the service counter to pick up keys anymore, saving a significant amount of time on business trips.

Siemens and Sixt are also working on an end-to-end solution based on blockchain technology and billing for Siemens users.

It will focus on increasing the use of electromobility.

Erich Sixt, chief executive of Sixt, added: “Sixt and Siemens – a cooperation that will last for decades.

“We are delighted to have once again earned Siemens’ confidence in Sixt’s innovative services and concepts.

“Mobility is no longer limited to providing a vehicle.

“Smooth processes and needs-based solutions are essential.

“That’s why we use the latest technologies to ensure maximum flexibility and cost control.”
