Singapore Airlines launches Munich Services

Singapore Airlines launched its inaugural flight to Munich last night, when SQ 328, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, departed Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3 at 2245hrs. The aircraft is scheduled to arrive at Munich’s Franz Josef Strauß Airport at 0535hrs today and at 0635hrs will depart Munich for Manchester (all times local).

Ms Christiana Markert, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Singapore, joined Singapore Airlines’ customers and staff in witnessing the addition of Munich to the SIA network. Customers were also treated to refreshments and presented with a goodie bag comprising a customised beer stein and commemorative flight certificate.

The return flight, SQ 327, will take place later today, 29 March, with the aircraft departing Manchester at 0920hrs and arriving in Munich at 1225hrs. It will then depart from Munich at 1335hrs and arrive in Singapore at 0740hrs on 30 March (all times local).

Customers travelling to Munich have much to look forward to with the new five-times-weekly flights. Home to Oktoberfest, the world’s largest folk and beer festival, and many renowned international companies, the city is also well-known for famous landmarks. These include Neuschwanstein Castle, often depicted as the fairy-tale castle of King Ludwig II and the inspiration for Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle, as well as the spectacular Bavarian Alps.

Munich is Singapore Airlines’ second destination in Germany after Frankfurt, which is served with two daily flights, one of which carries on to New York. The addition of Munich to Singapore Airlines’ network will provide customers with greater connectivity and ease in travelling to this outstanding city and the surrounding region.
