Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa promotes Melissa Raffaelli to director of sales

The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh has promoted Melissa Raffaelli to the role of Director of Sales.

Melissa joined the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in 2002 as a Guest Services Agent in the Front Office, before transferring to the Spa Reception and eventually moving into Group and Events Sales.  She subsequently held a number of positions in the hotel sales team, most recently as Assistant Director of Sales. Prior to this, Melissa worked to promote both the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa and Turnberry, the Luxury Collection Resort in Ayrshire, to the international conference and incentive market, as Account Director for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Scotland.

The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa was relaunched last year as part of the Sheraton brand’s multi-year revitalisation effort which has seen Sheraton and its owners invest more than USD $6 billion in Sheraton properties across the globe. This investment programme positions the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa as one of Edinburgh’s leading luxury hotels, creating exciting opportunities to promote the fully-renovated property, plus the wider destination, to existing clients as well as potential new contacts.

Tristan Nesbitt, General Manager of the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, said: “It gives me great pleasure to promote Melissa to Director of Sales. This is a key role at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, particularly following the hotel’s relaunch last year as the UK’s flagship Sheraton following a multi-million pound refurbishment.  We have many exciting business opportunities ahead and Melissa will play a key role in driving this business forward.”
