Seychelles will celebrate Tourism Day (September 27) with a week-long program, which will see a “Seychelles Ball” as its main activity.
Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, said during an interview today with SBC TV that the “Seychelles Ball” is the opportunity for tourism businesses and the government to meet socially and to use that opportunity to network. “Tourism is a people’s industry, and for this to work and for the industry to progress, people need to meet and dialogue - what better place than to have the opportunity to do that outside of an office? This is why a ball of the year is organized annually to bring members of the government and the business community together. More can be done and achieved at such a social occasion,” said Alain St.Ange.
The Seychelles Tourism Board will this year use the “Seychelles Ball” to make a couple of major announcements from the private sector and from the government itself. Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort&Casino is the venue for the 2011 “Seychelles Ball,” and Ken Choo, the resort’s General Manager, has been personally involved with the organization of the event, which will see live cooking stations set out on the grounds of the hotel to prepare hot snacks for the 400+ guests expected to attend the 2011 “Seychelles Ball.” Two of the top music bands from the Seychelles - Fame&Zenith - will be performing live from 7:00 pm right up to 1:30 am to ensure that the island’s tourism industry, and those who support the industry that remains the pillar of the Seychelles economy, enjoy their main function of the year.
The Seychelles tourism industry will be presented with the sponsors of their special evening at the official part of the event when Alain St.Ange will be welcoming the friends of the country’s tourism industry to the island’s tourism function of the year.
Tourism Week 2011 will also see the relaunch of the Cap. Lazare Restaurant, open daily, at several hotels and resorts; the launch of the sustainable tourism lable logo and program; and an induction session at the Tourism Academy where hotel professionals will address students and lecturers, etc.
