Seychelles congratulates India on 64th Independence Day

On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of India, the Seychelles President, Mr. James Michel, has sent a letter of congratulations, on behalf of the people and government of Seychelles, conveying greetings and warm wishes to HE Mrs. Prathiba Devisingh Patil, President of India.

President Michel also took this opportunity to thank the government of India for its enduring support of Seychelles:

“India has been a most committed partner overall and has in the last few years been consistent in helping us in the fight against piracy in the Indian Ocean.

“The government of Seychelles anticipates the continuation of successful collaborations and hopes that the excellent ties between our two nations based on mutual friendship, respect, and understanding prolong.”

The President concluded by conveying sincerest well-wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the people of India.
