Saxon Boutique Hotel introduces Business Lunch at Qunu Grill

The Saxon Boutique Hotel, Villas & Spa’s latest culinary offering, Saxon Qunu Grill, today, launches their business lunch menu.

Reminiscent of a New York ‘Power lunch’, the restaurant offers diners a plethora of enticing meals, which change daily to offer guests maximum variety.

Catering to the busy executive, the Business Lunch promises a selection of either a two or three course menu, or alternatively the daily grill with a glass of wine, all within 60 minutes or they will cover the bill. A promise like none other in the city.

Saxon Qunu Grill exudes the warmth of the hotel’s African heritage from its rich surroundings, red tones, woven lampshades and ambient glow, enhanced by the remarkable hanging gardens.

Just beyond the striking hanging gardens the glass double doors lead you out onto the terrace where one finds themselves dining under the striking canopy of age-old fig trees, offering a sense of being an intrinsic part of Africa.

“In an age where time is crucial, today’s business professionals are continually searching for a place to enjoy an appetizing meal within the working day, where not only are the service and meal impeccable, but the staff are efficient in timing,” remarked George Cohen, managing director of the Saxon Hotel, Villas & Spa.

“It is a well known fact that lunch boosts creativity and productivity.

“Given the current time constraints for businessmen and women across the city, we took the challenge to provide a two or three course meal in less than 60 minutes.”

The operational challenge to serving a three course menu in less than 60 minutes, while maintaining the very best service requirements and food standards, can prove fazing for many a five-star establishment.

“Though, knowing the capabilities and superior skillset of my culinary team, we were delighted to take on the challenge and hope to change the way business professionals see the traditional power lunch,” added executive chef David Higgs.

The restaurant’s Xhosa name pays homage to the Eastern Cape village where former president Nelson Mandela was born.

This well-known and respected icon chose the Saxon as a quiet refuge whilst writing his memoirs thus it’s only fitting that his birthplace has made a permanent mark on the hotel.

In his autobiography, Mandela credits Qunu as being the place where he spent some of his happiest childhood moments and after his retirement he again made it his home.

Whether the occasion is a business lunch, a special celebration or simply to fulfill the need for inspired and appetizing cuisine,  Saxon Qunu Grill will provide the perfect setting where memories are made.
