SATA to resume direct flights to the Azores

From Saturday 7 April, SATA International will resume direct flights from the UK to the Azores.  SATA International flights will be operating every Saturday until 27 October 2012, with early afternoon departures from London Gatwick to Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel, the largest of the Azorean Islands.

The weekly direct flight from Gatwick to Sao Miguel takes under four hours, with prices starting from £311.70 return, including taxes and charges.  Weekday flights will also be available, flying from Ponta Delgada to London Heathrow via Lisbon.  The full service airline offers passengers complimentary catering and 20kg checked baggage allowance on all flights to and from the Azores.

Located in the middle of the Atlantic, the nine islands of the Azores are Europe’s most westerly point.  SATA International offers the most comprehensive inter-island connections for travellers wishing to experience all nine islands of the archipelago, with prices starting from £47 per person one-way, including taxes and charges.
