SATA has established a key partnership with Alitours, the result of a series of initiatives by SATA Express to promote the Azores destination. Among these was a “FAM TRIP” in 2011, showcasing the nine islands’ main natural wonders to this new partner’s representatives.

This agreement will expand SATA’s distribution channels, while also increasing the number of available options to immigrants and tourists wishing to visit the Azores through more competitive fares.

This new partnership is part of the Azorean airline’s sales strategy of boosting awareness of the company and the Azores destination in key outbound travel markets such as Canada.

One of the practical outcomes of this partnership is the publication, at the Alitours website, of a 48-page brochure on the Azores destination entitled “The Azores: Portugal’s Best-Kept Secret”, which features SATA and its direct flights between Canada and the Azores.
