Russian Railways switching points and stations and main lines

As part of the international project “Reconstruction of the Railway Line between Khasan in Russia and Rajin in North Korea,” it is planned to install 56 switching points and more than 64 kilometres of station and mainroutes in 2011.
The project includes the reconstruction of the section of the railway line between Khssan in Russia and Rajin in North Korea (54 km), the construction of a cargo terminal at the port of Rajin, and the subsequent use of this infrastructure for transit shipments with access to the Russian railway network.
An agreement on cooperation to implement the project was signed in 2008. The Khasan - Rajin project is considered a pilot project onthe reconstruction of the whole Trans-Korean Main Line.
At the moment, consultations are continuing on resuming trilateral contacts between Russia, North Korea and South Korea and creating the conditions for implementing this ambitious project.
