Royal Caribbean International selects Agilysys for document management solution

Agilysys, Inc. (Nasdaq: AGYS), a leading provider of innovative information technology and hospitality software solutions, has announced that Royal Caribbean International in Miami has selected the DataMagine™ document management solution from Agilysys to streamline operations on Oasis of the Seas, the cruise line’s newest ship. Royal Caribbean will use the DataMagine solution to electronically capture guest signatures, digitize sales receipts and consolidate activity waivers.

“We were looking for an environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional paper-based documents for Oasis of the Seas, and Agilysys offered the ideal solution,” said Lisa Bauer, senior vice president, hotel operations, Royal Caribbean International. “The DataMagine solution’s electronic waiver capability allows us to consolidate each passenger’s activity waivers onto one form, helping reduce liability and increasing guest satisfaction. Digitized receipts enable easy search and retrieval, and we can decrease our dependence on paper with the solution’s electronic signature capture feature.”

The DataMagine document management solution suite from Agilysys provides a complete imaging and archiving solution to manage all business-critical documents and reports. The solution’s imaging module seamlessly integrates with any business application, usually without writing or changing a single line of code. Features of the DataMagine solution include image linking, individual permission levels for security, remote on-demand data access, instant data delivery, electronic document routing and more.

“In the highly competitive cruise line industry, customers must select technology that enables them to maximize efficiency and outperform the competition,” said Tina Stehle, senior vice president and general manager of Agilysys Hospitality Solutions Group. “Our DataMagine solution not only streamlines operations and helps ensure speedy resolution to guest disputes but also enhances the guest experience. We have worked with Royal Caribbean International for many years and are pleased that the company is using our document management technology on Oasis of the Seas.”

Royal Caribbean International is a global cruise brand with 21 ships currently in service and one under construction. The line also offers unique cruise-tour-land packages in Alaska, Canada, Dubai, Europe and Australia and New Zealand. Oasis of the Seas is the largest and most revolutionary cruise ship in the world. An architectural marvel at sea, she spans 16 decks, encompasses 225,282 gross registered tons, carries 5,400 guests at double occupancy and features 2,700 staterooms. Oasis of the Seas is the first ship to tout the cruise line’s new neighborhood concept of seven distinct themed areas, which include Central Park, Boardwalk, the Royal Promenade, the Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center, Entertainment Place and Youth Zone. The ship will sail from her home port of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
